Seeing a therapist for the first time can be quite challenging and intimidating. Taking the time to attend to your wellbeing however, is an excellent form of self-care. Here are some answers to some possible questions that you might have when you are looking for a therapist:
How long will we meet for?
At Simply Serene, we usually meet for a standard 50 minute session. Time may be added if the session is a first session and extra assessment is needed.
What do we discuss?
During the session there would be some type of assessment, (especially during the first session) some form of goal setting, then exploration of how we get there together. During each session there would be an exploration of how you’ve felt in terms of your progress forward to reaching your desired goals and what support you might need.
How will this be beneficial?
During this time you would be given a safe space to process your thoughts and feelings, gain insight and reflect on your behavioural patterns. You can also take the opportunity to discover new ways of coping and finding tools and skills that could help you grow into a stronger person and develop your own resilience when faced with different challenges.
How much will it cost?
The cost of therapy sessions at Simply Serene depends on the situation. In most cases, students are charged $80 per session, Individual adults are charged $100 per session and couples are charged $120 per session. There are exceptions to these fees and these are arranged on a case by case basis.

Payments can be made by cash or e-transfer.
